Introduction
Solanum lycopersicum is an annual herbaceous plant of
the Solanaceae family. Native to Central and South America, it is now widely cultivated around the
world and plays an important role in the global diet. In addition, tomato is widely used as a
model organism in plant biology and genetics research, including studying plant growth and
development, genetic traits, and the molecular mechanisms of above-ground root.
With the rapid development of single-cell sequencing technology, the map of tomato shoot-borne
root development at single-cell resolution was released in 2022[1], and a spatial transcriptome map
of tomato callus shoot regeneration was established for the first time in 2023[2].
