Overview
Species: Oryza sativa
Genus: Oryza
Family: Poaceae
Taxonomy ID: 4530
Common Name: Asian cultivated rice, red rice, rice
Introduction
Oryza sativa is a monocotyledonous plant of the Gramineae family, which is one of the most important food crops for mankind. In addition, as a model plant, Oryza sativa has received continuous and extensive attention from scientific researchers in field of ontogeny and cell differentiation. With the rapid development of single-cell sequencing technology in the plant, the first single-cell resolution transcriptome map of the root tissue in rice was released in 2020, which provide a theory and genetic resources for rice functional genome research. In 2022, a single-cell dynamic panorama covering the transition from inflorescence to floret during early reproductive development was constructed [2]. Currently, single-cell sequencing technology is booming in the study of various tissues in rice, such as roots, leaves and inflorescences.
