Introduction
Nicotiana tabacum is an annual herbaceous plant of the
Solanaceae family, native to tropical and subtropical regions of America. Notably, Nicotiana
tabacum is known for its rich content of the alkaloid nicotine and has a long history of use as
an herbal medicine and social stimulant. In addition, it has a short life cycle and
rich genetic diversity, making it a model plant for research on plant genetics, molecular biology,
and cell biology. Based on the development of single-cell sequencing technology in the plant field,
the transcriptome profile of corolla at the single-cell level was released in 2022,
and the entire biosynthetic pathway of floral volatiles in tobacco was revealed[1].
